Always notify 811 well in advance of digging. It’s the law!
Call 811 or contact JULIE at illinois1call.com at least two full business days, excluding weekends and legal holidays, before you dig, blast, bore, trench, drill, grade, or excavate in any way. This free service will arrange to mark underground utility lines so you can dig safely. Before you notify 811, pre-mark your proposed excavation area with white paint, flags, and/or stakes, so locators can more easily mark the affected utilities.

Never rely solely on your utility maps.
Printed utility maps are not updated often, and the markings may be off. The one-call center will contact the appropriate utilities to locate any facilities in or near the proposed excavation area.
